At Bushido Academy, our Adult Muay Thai program is built on a clear, structured progression that allows every student to train at their own pace while continually improving. Training is divided into two levels:
Level 1: Fundamentals of Striking – Focused on building a solid foundation, students learn stance, movement, and basic strikes while developing fitness through heavy bag work, pad training, and Dutch drills. This level is designed to be accessible for beginners and challenging enough to build real strength and endurance.
Level 2: Combinations & Sparring – Once fundamentals are mastered, students advance into linking techniques together, developing ring strategy, clinch control, and controlled sparring. This level provides the challenge and intensity needed to take skills to the next stage while still emphasizing safety and respect.
Every class combines technical training with conditioning, ensuring you not only gain self-defense and martial arts skills but also see results in strength, stamina, and overall fitness. What You’ll Learn in Level 1
The Basics of Striking – Proper stance, movement, and how to throw punches, kicks, knees, and elbows safely.
Heavy Bag Work – Build power, speed, and endurance while reinforcing good technique.
Pad & Mitt Training – Develop accuracy and timing with real feedback from instructors and partners.
Dutch Drills – Partner-based striking combinations where one person attacks while the other defends, then switch. These drills improve rhythm, flow, and real-time reactions in a controlled environment.
